OCS Worldwide launches ‘Flexible Direct’ weekend and evening home delivery service for e-tailers
With working hours becoming ever more fluid, millions of British consumers can now look forward to a better home shopping experience thanks to OCS Worldwide who are responding to demand by providing a weekend and evening courier delivery service to consumers within the M25.
Launching this month across the UK, home shoppers who buy from retailers shipping with OCS can choose to have their purchases delivered on the weekend or evening when they are most likely to be home to receive them. The new service means an end to ‘Sorry we missed you’ cards and to taking time off work to wait at home for a parcel.
The scale of home delivery hassles experienced by UK householders was highlighted in the recent Consumer Delivery Survey 2010, a report from IMRG, which found that:
- 75% of consumers have experienced a first-time delivery failure.
- Nearly 40% of those surveyed said poor delivery experience had stopped them shopping again with a particular retailer.
- More than half of shoppers (55%) run the risk of a failed delivery because no one will be at home to accept the goods.
- When it comes to solutions 67% favoured the ability to choose an evening delivery, 63% Saturday morning and 50% Sunday morning.
As OCS Worldwide currently makes nearly 80,000 overnight deliveries weekly to home addresses we have responded to market demand and organised the business to be able to offer a solution to these delivery issues in the home shopping market. It’s expected that the new service will reduce the number of missed delivery cards and also mean that consumers have to make fewer journeys to collect packages from parcel depots.
OCS Worldwide CEO Tim Jones: “OCS Worldwide now provide consumers within the M25 and beyond more options for receiving their home deliveries at a time to suit them. The flexibility provided is one of the most important aspects as many people resent having to take time off work to wait in for a parcel.
