OCS offer a variety of eCommerce solutions for every type of on-line sale. Depending on the service your customer requires will affect the maximum size and weight restrictions for that service. Talk to one of our representatives and we can advise you on what best fits your product and your customer's delivery expectations.
Shipping my parcel
That depends on how you'd like to send your parcel. OCS Worldwide have solutions that fit every on-line sale, matching item value with expectation of delivery. We can advise you on how to send a parcel once we understand the delivery promise you're making to your customer.
These terms can affect what your customer has to do to take receipt of their parcel.
DDP - This means Delivery Duty Paid and includes all duty and taxes at the point of sale. What the customer pays gives them a door-to-door service from your dispatch point, meaning a smooth crossing through Border Customs. In this instance, you will be responsible for paying all duty and taxes.
DDU - This means Delivery Duty Unpaid and in reality, you're passing all tax and duty charges on to your customer. Before the parcel is delivered, they will be contacted and asked to pay for clearance including a possible fee. Whilst simple for the retailer, shipping Items on a DDU basis can lead to refusals, meaning you would be responsible for any charges to have the goods returned.
That depends on how you ship your parcel and where it's going. Each country has its own set of rules for the import of deliveries. Some countries let you ship duty-free under a certain item-value and some countries charge duty on all aspects of the item. Some counties even add additional charges called Tariffs. It is really down to your customer delivery promise and the expectations they have after they've bought an item from you. Again, we can help, just contact one of the team and we'll simplify everything for you.
Tracking
You can track your parcel by using the OCS Worldwide tracking number, usually starting with 84, your own unique reference number that you gave to the parcel and the final mile tracking number that OCS will add to your parcel, allowing you or your customer to track the parcel using the local delivery partners web site. You'll also find a link to this website on the main tracking page, or through Flight Deck if you have access to our MI Suite.
There are many reasons why a parcel may not have received an update, the most likely is a delay in clearing customs. Speak to our Customer Service team for additional information.
No. Due to data protection regulations, you will need your parcel number to track your shipment. If you're the retailer, please speak to the Customer Service team for further assistance. If you're the final recipient, please contact your seller or retailer to obtain the tracking number.
Depending on the final delivery location of your parcel and the delivery window given, we try and manage any delay internally. However, if the team require anything additional from either you or your customer, we'll be in touch to request that information.
