Service Suspended in Israel Amidst Declared State of Emergency

Effective immediately, all services to Israel have been suspended until further notice, following a declaration of a special state of emergency by the Israeli government on 13th June 2025.

This decision comes as all national infrastructure transitions to an emergency footing. Civilian movement and activities are currently restricted, with citizens instructed to remain in protected areas. Public gatherings have been prohibited.

In line with the government’s directive, all transportation services, including flights, have been halted. Operations at the nation’s ports are also suspended as part of the nationwide security measures.

Thursday 29th May 2025, the US Federal Appeals Court granted the Trump Administration a temporary suspension on the lower court’s ruling, meaning that the tariff policy was reinstated, albeit until 5th June 2025, the date of the next hearing.

Peter Navarro, one of the Presidents trade advisors, told reporters on Thursday 29th, “You can assume that even if we lose, we will do it another way.”

The president could also invoke Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, which he invoked for his first-term tariffs on China.

The Court of International Trade ruled that an emergency law invoked by the White House does not give the president unilateral authority to impose tariffs on nearly every country.

The Manhattan-based court said the US Constitution gives Congress exclusive powers to regulate commerce with other nations and this is not superseded by the president’s remit to safeguard the economy.

“Customers should be prepared for possible service delays

Today, Canada Post received strike notices from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), for both Urban and RSMC (Rural and Suburban Mail Carriers) bargaining units. The notices indicate that CUPW intends to begin strike activity as of Friday, May 23 at 12:00 am local time, unless the parties reach agreements before then.
